Pearson "Wakefield" pack boots are a type of footwear and may be equipped to the character's feet. They can be found lying on the ground, during scavenging (usually in urban areas), or after killing an NPC.
If each foot is covered by a shoe, boot, or other footwear, the player will no longer be considered barefoot, and will no longer incur the 1 move penalty per turn. They also protect the players from the elements slightly.
Make sure you wear shoes correctly. Wearing shoes on the wrong feet causes Philip to develop blisters resulting in movement penalty.
